Policies
1. Refund policy Because these are instant digital downloads, we don't offer refunds just because you changed your mind. We will fix the problem or refund you if, within 14 days of purchase: - the file won't open in current Excel or Google Sheets, or - a formula doesn't work as described in the listing.
Message us with your order number and a short description. We aim to reply within 2 business days.
Etsy orders also follow Etsy's Purchase Protection program.
2. License terms When you buy a Plain Sheet Co template, you get a non-exclusive license to use it for your own personal use or for one business, including that business's employees. - **You may:** edit it, copy it for your own records, and print it. - **You may not:** resell it, share it, give it away, or redistribute it, whether edited or not; upload it to template marketplaces; or present it as your own product. - **Ownership:** Plain Sheet Co keeps the copyright. - **Accountants and bookkeepers:** if you want to give copies to clients, contact us about a multi-client license.
3. AI-use disclosure (Etsy requires this in every listing; we show it in-file too) "This template was made with AI assistance. We designed the structure, then built, tested and reviewed every formula against sample data before release."
4. Disclaimer (Start Here tab, listing, and storefront footer) "Plain Sheet Co templates are organizing tools, not tax, legal, accounting or financial advice. Any estimates, including tax set-aside amounts, fees and mileage amounts, depend on the numbers and rates you enter, and rates can change. You are responsible for checking figures and filings. Talk to a qualified tax professional about your situation."
5. Product-specific notes - **Mileage Log:** the 2026 IRS business rates are pre-filled: 72.5 cents per mile for Jan 1 to Jun 30, and 76 cents per mile for Jul 1 to Dec 31. Source: irs.gov/tax-professionals/standard-mileage-rates. Whether the standard mileage rate applies to you depends on your situation (see IRS Pub. 463). - **Freelancer Tracker:** the set-aside is a percentage the user chooses. The tracker does not calculate taxes. - **Etsy fee defaults:** these come from etsy.com/legal/fees as of Oct 2026, and they can be edited.
